Its been awhile, and not updating this has made me forget about recent releases and the big events......like the Game Developers Conference which is currently going on this week. Although the big news usually doesn't pop out until halfway through the week during the main keynotes, it still irks me to have forgotten about it(part of the blame goes to other projects/late night 360 gaming). A backlog of news that has already come out will be up later tonight. For now, just some quick shots with details later:
Wii storage solution announced, now available
New Zelda game for DS shown
CryEngine 3 video demonstration
Wolfenstein for iPhone shown, demonstrated
More details tonight. Later.

WII-KLY UPDATE: TWO WIIWARE GAMES AND ONE VIRTUAL CONSOLE GAME ADDED TO WII SHOP CHANNEL
Nov. 24, 2008
This week, it's all about you. By adding three new single-player games to the Wii™ Shop Channel, we're helping gamers turn their Wii time into "me time." That said, don't be surprised if you attract a crowd of onlookers with this remarkable lineup. From elastic critters and elaborate puzzles to a hero with highly questionable manners, these solo titles are suitable for sharing, but give your friends and family fair warning: They may have to wait a while for their turn once you've gotten a taste of the single-player fun.
Nintendo adds new and classic games to the Wii Shop Channel at 9 a.m. Pacific time every Monday. Wii owners with a high-speed Internet connection can redeem Wii Points™ to download the games. Wii Points can be purchased in the Wii Shop Channel or at retail outlets. This week's new games are:
WiiWare™
Boingz (RealArcade, 1 player, Rated E for Everyone, 1,000 Wii Points): Stretch, flex and flick your way to freedom. A truly mind-bending experience, Boingz introduces you to cute, colorful, stretchable friends lost in an alien world, searching for the magical gates that will take them home. Boingz springs to life with 30 levels of puzzle-platforming fun. The Boingz are bendy little critters that can be pulled, stretched and flicked from place to place like rubber bands. It's a team effort, as all the Boingz will have to work together to unwind the game's puzzles. What's more, many of the Boingz have fallen into a deep slumber, and you'll have to lead the stronger Boingz to find and wake up their sleepy friends. Explore surreal landscapes, sail through the air like a trapeze artist, walk along the seafloor, and collect the Twinklies to power up your elastic-powered flights.
Sudoku Challenge! (Digital Leisure Inc., 1 player, Rated E for Everyone, 500 Wii Points): Now's your chance to play the brain-busting puzzle game taking the world by storm. With over 100 million Sudoku puzzles, you'll never see the same puzzle twice in Sudoku Challenge! You can select the classic nine-by-nine Sudoku game boards as well as Grand Sudoku, which challenges you to complete five intersecting Sudoku boards simultaneously. Just a beginner? Don't worry-with three difficulty options, even a novice player can complete a Sudoku with ease. But if you're a seasoned pro, challenge yourself in Expert mode and test your true skills. It's time to get your thinking cap on and see how many Sudoku puzzles you can conquer.
Virtual Console™
Boogerman™: A Pick and Flick Adventure (Sega Genesis, 1 player, Rated E for Everyone-Comic Mischief, 800 Wii Points): In this top pick from the Sega Genesis, play as Boogerman, the heroic alter ego of Snotty Ragsdale. While investigating Professor Stinkbaum's lab, Boogerman stumbles upon a strange machine that opens a portal to another dimension. Boogerman has a nose for adventure, but has he met his match in this sticky situation? Journey through dangerous worlds while battling wicked enemies like Fly Boy and Deodor Ant. Deal them a blow with Boogerman's super abilities: pick and flick with deadly precision, belch, and use his deadly signature stomp.

WII-KLY UPDATE: TWO WIIWARE GAMES AND TWO VIRTUAL CONSOLE GAMES ADDED TO WII SHOP CHANNEL
Nov. 17, 2008
The ever-growing library of games on the Wii™ Shop Channel truly offers something for every gaming occasion, as seen in this week's new additions. Want to settle in for a few single-player laughs? Check out the latest hilarious Strong Bad adventure. Socializing with friends? Target Toss Pro: Bags lets you play with as many as 15 of your pals. Gathering with family? Even your grandparents can enjoy the arcade classic SPACE INVADERS®. And the side-scrolling action of FORGOTTEN WORLDS™ provides a wickedly fun diversion for solo gamers and fantasy-loving groups alike.
Nintendo adds new and classic games to the Wii Shop Channel at 9 a.m. Pacific time every Monday. Wii owners with a broadband Internet connection can redeem Wii Points™ to download the games. Wii Points can be purchased in the Wii Shop Channel or at retail outlets. This week's new games are:
WiiWare™
Strong Bad Episode 4: Dangeresque 3 (Telltale Games, 1 player, Rated E10+ for Everyone 10 and Older – Alcohol and Tobacco Reference, Crude Humor, Mild Cartoon Violence, 1,000 Wii Points): Move over, generically buff action heroes. Strong Bad is here to show you how it's done in his hand-crafted cinematic masterpiece, Dangeresque 3: The Criminal Projective. You play Dangeresque, a dirty cop in pursuit of a little action and several big sacks of cash. Can our hero stay alive long enough to defeat his arch-nemesis, save the world and get the girl? Looks like he's gonna have to jump.
Target Toss Pro: Bags (Incredible Technologies, 1-16 players, Rated E for Everyone, 700 Wii Points): Target Toss Pro: Bags is a new video game based on beanbag toss, the nation's hottest backyard and tailgate sensation. Bags – or Cornhole, as it's called in some parts of the country – originated in the Midwest in the 1960s and has since become a staple at outdoor social events from coast to coast. Similar to horseshoes, Bags is a deceptively simple yet extremely competitive game where players try to toss beanbags into a hole in a slightly raised platform or "box" for points. Whether at a tailgate party or a summer barbecue, the game has become a social focal point, and the unmistakable thud of bags hitting the box is now a universal party soundtrack.
Virtual Console™
SPACE INVADERS: The Original Game (Super NES™, 1-2 players, Rated E for Everyone, 800 Wii Points): Experience one of gaming's iconic franchises in this perfect rendition of the arcade classic. Take aim at the field of invaders relentlessly marching toward you. Move quickly but carefully, using the barriers for protection as you avoid missiles fired by the aliens and try to destroy all of them before they reach the bottom of the screen. Further enhance the nostalgia by choosing from several modes that simulate different versions of the arcade game (such as upright cabinet or black-and-white). Or if you want to prove your superior skills to a friend, try the new VS mode and see who can stop the alien menace the quickest. All in all, it's pure gaming at its best, now with no quarters required.
FORGOTTEN WORLDS (SEGA GENESIS, 1-2 players, Rated E for Everyone – Fantasy Violence, 800 Wii Points): FORGOTTEN WORLDS is a one- or two-player side-scrolling shooter made by CAPCOM. It was one of the first games to incorporate 360-degree aiming and shooting. This SEGA GENESIS version provides the same impact and intensity of the classic arcade game. In the 29th century, without warning, warships broke through the sky, loaded with fiendish aliens. They rained down fire, bombs, missiles and napalm, leaving the land barren and inhospitable. Humanity was enslaved and Earth became known as the Forgotten World. In a hidden place, a group of brave humans raised two male children in secret. They brought up the young men as warriors, training them for battle. The two warriors emerged as armed machines of might, strength and super power – the Nameless Ones. Fight the hateful invaders as the powerful Nameless Ones. Collect Zenny to upgrade your weapons and satellite, and free the planet.

Yup, its one of 'those' posts.
I am not going to start talking about who won what, who deserved to win, or anything like that. The majority of polling places across the country have already close, with a small handful of states left over as the exception. Just about every major news organization has already broken the news, that we have a new President.
Each candidate has fought long and hard, all the way to this one important night. This country has voted for whom they believed to be the better candidate, for who they wanted to lead them, and they made their voices heard. One man has lost, another has won. The only constant is that a new day will await us, a new four years are ahead of us. This truly has been a presidential election of historical proportions, that will resonate across history for decades to come. 2009 will be a very interesting year, that I can easily say without a doubt; The next four years will be completely different, hopefully full of prosperity and better days ahead.
John McCain fought long and hard, all the way to this very night; I tip my hat to him, for he never gave up, never wavered, never backed down. Barack Obama has made history, and with him we all hope for better days and a better future in the next four years.
Barack Obama, Congratulations. You truly earned this night.
A week has passed with no updates here(I blame myself), but the consistency will return for the rest of this year. Its Monday, and with that day brings new games on your little white box; its back to the regular 3-game standard as we see two new additions to WiiWare, and one to Virtual Console.
Alien Crush Returns(1-4 Players, 800 Wii Points)
A reinvention of the TurboGrafx classic, with some modern updates.
Home Sweet Home(1 Player, 1,000 Wii Points)
It's like The Sims.......y'know, without The Sims.
Space Harrier(1 Player, 500 Wii Points)
Two words: Buy it.

Well, everything that was newsworthy has already been seen or announced, so this means I can write this one real quick, so I can go to sleep sooner(YAY!). Lets go:
This is the trailer for Noby Noby Boy, from the man that brought you Katamari Damacy; All I can really say about this game is "............What?!". It's just easier if you check out the TGS trailer and see for yourself:
Now staying on the topic of trailers, now is a good time to segue over to BlizzCon, which started today. During the opening ceremonies, the third character class for Diablo 3 was announced, which was the Wizard. Similar to the Sorcerer, a female version was shown in gameplay, along with the official trailer accompanying it:
Aside from that, the biggest bombshell to be dropped today was concerning the single-player campaign for Starcraft 2. Blizzard revealed during the SC 2 gameplay panel that at this point the game is so huge, that each race will have a standalone game. The first is called Terran: Wings of Liberty, where you follow Jim Raynor's story; the remaining campaigns are Zerg: Heart of the Swarm, and Protoss: Legacy of the Void. There is good news and bad news to this decision.....
The Good News: each individual campaign will consist of about 26-30 missions, with each game having its own unique ending.
The Bad News: You have to buy all three if you want the whole story. Yup, Blizzard just grabbed everyone by the balls on this one.
Taking this into consideration, there is a good possibility that there will be a huge box set of all three games, but it will probably cost an arm and a leg. Start saving up money, folks...'cause your wallet is going to get raped.
Also, once again......no release date was revealed for Diablo or StarCraft. They still keep their familiar "when its done" placeholder.
(UPDATE): New info reveals that each game after the first is being treated as a 'expansion' of sorts, but here's where it gets worse: Each expansion will be available a year or so after the last game. With the Terran campaign rumored to be out by 2009, we wont see the last piece of the trilogy until 2011. Sad news, indeed.
And with that, I'm gone.
(Mad props go to gamevideos.com for the clips)
The first press day of TGS has officially ended, and the word is surprisingly good. No conference from Sony yet, so we'll wait and see on that. Now let's begin...
With this past E3 being a major disaster/letdown, it was up to TGS to pick up the major slack left behind.....slack that has been picked up quickly. A slew of new games were seen today, some already announced and others being heard of for the first time. Among the new titles seen today was Noby Noby Boy, from Katamari Damacy creator Keita Takahashi; only video was available, but it looks very different from all points around. Along with that, one of the big reveals of today has to be the new entry in the Castlevania series for Xbox 360 and PS3; Konami is only showing a short 10-second teaser clip, which easily explains the lack of gameplay seen. Besides that, no tentative release date was given, but a 2009 prediction is good to make at this point.
Monster Hunter 3 was available in both video and a playable demo, as well. The 4-player fight against what appears as a new monster now confirms the ability to play online with others, and not 4 people playing splitscreen co-op on two consoles. The gameplay has stayed the same from previous iterations, with the textures and graphics getting the upgrade; a huge first in the series this time around is the inclusion of underwater exploration which also includes underwater battles taking place. Right now, MH3 might be one of the must-buy titles for Wii when it comes out.
(trailer embedded below)
BlazBlue, from Arc System Works was also seen with two new trailers today, one of them being the opening intro to the game. While the only other challenger it has in terms of animation is King of Fighters XII, BlazBlue still comes out above. While it retains a feel to their other series Guilty Gear, it is only a spiritual successor in terms of style.
While staying on the topic of fighting games, the new trailer for Tekken 6 was dropped today, and after going through the video a few times, there seems to be a full list of 40 characters to choose from, along with new arena to battle in.
Theres alot of stuff to post, and since its past 2am as I type this, i'll go through a quick shot of news for the rest:
*** No More Heroes: Desperate Struggle has now been confirmed for Wii, and a release date was also given today; NMH2 will come out in January in 2010, and March for Europe. Aside from that, Marvelous also announced a new title, called Discipline for the Wii; besides the name, no other news was given.
***After kicking the can around, Media Molecule have decided no to do a full wipe of all the stages that were built during the LittleBigPlanet beta; rejoice, because you can play them all when the game comes out later this year.
***Two new characters were revealed for the Wii version of Tatsunoko vs. Capcom today: Jun from Gatchaman, and Roll from the Megaman universe.
***Valve have given a timestamp for when we'll see a demo of their zombie-shooter Left 4 Dead; the game comes out on November 17th, and the demo will be out earlier that month, hopefully sometime within the first week.
***That rumor that Microsoft was working on a Blu-Ray player for the Xbox360?? consider it a dead rumor, as they have now denied the existence of a Blu-Ray add-on.
***Two games have 'gone gold', but only one has been pirated so far; Fallout 3 is due to launch in a few weeks, but already it has been leaked on torrent sites. The easiest explanation is a review copy just fell into the wrong hands(Bethesda, get crackin'). Gears of War 2 has also now finished production and is ready to be printed onto tons and tons of discs, that will be purchased later this November.
***Along with the news on Halo 3: Recon from yesterday, the game will be a stanalone title, and will also come with a new set of multiplayer maps; since you dont play as a Spartan this time around, you are going to have to adjust your strategy a bit(no regerating shield, perhaps?).
***Third-person shooter Quantum Theory, from Tecmo(of Dead or Alive and Ninja Gaiden fame) got the announcement today as a PS3 exclusive. It appears to use aspects from Gears of War and Fracture in terms of gameplay style and changing environments. Expect it late 2009.
***Bionic Commando, which was expected to see a 2008 release date, has now been pushed back to 2009. Damnit.
***Patapon 2 had a trailer up, and confirmed some new classes, as wel as the inclusion of a multiplayer mode; up to four players can join, while the computer controls the rest(y'know, if you can't find four people to play with).
Tomorrow is the second day for the press, with the next two days after that dedicated to the public. Ironically enough, tomorrow is also the first day of Blizzcon, which will have Diablo 3 available to play for the public.
And now, off to sleep. I really need to start typing thse up earlier.
